Rise Against joins The Bamboozle 2009

More high profile additions are coming in for the 2009 edition of The Bamboozle. The latest is Rise Against.

They will be joined a bill which includes 3OH!3, A Rocket To The Moon, Ace Enders And A Million Different People, All Time Low, Bayside, Bloodhound Gang, Boys Like Girls, Brokencyde, Cobra Starship, Danger Radio, Enter Shikari, Face to Face, Fall Out Boy, Forever the Sickest Kids, GWAR, Hyper Crush, Mac Lethal, Mercy Mercedes, NeverShoutNever!, New Found Glory, No Doubt, Parkway Drive, Scotty Don't, Sonny, The Cab, Get Up Kids, and We The Kings.

Rumoured but not confirmed acts include NOFX, Maroon Five, Gorilla Biscuits, Britney Spears, and Sublime.

Pop Unknown is playing a reunion show during the week of SXSW according to their MySpace. Maybe The Get Up Kids will be in that area at that same time, too, so fans of that particular period in emo indie can get their true fill without having to deal with The Bamboozle b.s.?

I actually don't hate the new RA as much as I did when it came out, but it is easily their worst album (not even close). And Hero of War still sounds like Nickleback.

I really like The Dirt Whispered.

I wish NOFX would do a little more bashin' like in the old days. Fat Mike has all these business ethics now and doesn't toss the insults onstage as much at mainstreams acts anymore cuz he's probably worked with most of 'em before. Sighhh, punk rock needs some new "Hey you, you suck!" spokesmen.

Sure, when he's not drunk and incoherent (MAN they're fun to see live) but I mean like intentional attacks at mainstream pop-culture. Too many bands play it safe these days. It makes me kinda miss the elitism present in the 90s. Like, "I'm into punk rock, I know what's up, have fun with your KoRn and Manson cds jerkoff."

I just plain miss the Punk Vs. Everything Else atmosphere. NOFX and Rise Against and FallOutBoy are gonna go up onstage at this thing and not make a single crack at anyone's expense and they'll all shake hands and call it a day.

Its really not that good. Sure there are a few naked broads but the violence is really cheezy and predictable. And the ending is so bad.

I've got this friend who despite having good music tastes also has mediocre ones like rise against. he is constantly giving me shit about rise against, alkaline trio and thrice shows that i don't go to (i've seen these bands before, i live an hour away, they play huge "expensive" shows, and they're not my most favorite bands anyways) by trying to suggest that i only listen to hardcore music (so far from the truth) and always inferring that because of liking those "incredible" bands his tastes are far more superior to mine.
He has no idea who Off With Their Heads are, for example, won't check them out and won't go to the show they're playing in a couple of months. This kind of snobbery is really irritating to me, please tell me you know someone like this.

Anyone I know who currently likes RA, Alk3, and Thrice have liked them for at least 6-7 years now (when they were all breaking out) and enjoy smaller bands as well, and go to any show I mention. I like OWTH, but no one outside of this website probably knows who they are.

i don't know if this is related or not, but 4 years ago when i liked metalcore and indie pop, my brothers girlfriend at the time gave me shit for that. she told me i had to listen to one or the other. she then called me a poser because i wasn't committed to either genre. but she gave people shit for listening to one type of music. women.
