Tours: Bad Brains (California, Hawaii)

Bad Brains have added more shows to their December tour. The band will be hitting venues in California and Hawaii for this run. The influential hardcore band released Build a Nation last year.

Ya know I have to say the same thing. I jst saw them last year and HR just stood there like a fucking tard. I got the feeling he really didnt wanna be there. I say go see them if you never have seen them but if you have then don't waste your time seeing them again. Chances are they were much better the first time you saw them.

Easy for you to say. I live in Hawaii and the only bands that ever come here are bra rock like 311 and Jason Mraz. Those guys are gods down here. Bad Brains(or any punk band for that matter) coming down is unheard of. You guys taking going to shows for granted.

You just always seem to book the same bands. Guttermouth, TSOL, D.I..... D.I.!!??? If you were in the know on a few things, I'm sure your punk rock morals might take over, and you would cancel their performance. Pieces of shit from now on until they all die. I used to be the biggest D.I. fan too. They never did anything to me on a personal level, but they are backstabbing, moneygrubbers. Watch your back at the show.. Enjoy

Not my favorite venue, but whatever. I saw Polar Bear Club open for Gaslight at the Middle East in August. Fucking killer. Must catch this show.

I was digging all the openers at that show, but Polar Bear Club was the most impressive, I thought. Their energy on stage was intense. I had never heard them before, but like two songs in I was completely sold on them.

i probably say this every time one of their tours gets posted, but seriously DON'T GO. i know, i know, they were super amazing in the '80s and they're one of your favorite bands and you know they won't be as good but you still want to see them, but seriously just don't go. you will come home really disappointed and wishing you hadn't spent $30 to watch HR stand still and mumble incoherently for an hour.

i saw them in dc on election day and i actually had a halfway decent time. the band was on fire, which was pretty much the only reason i went so i could see these songs executed by some great musicians. as for hr, i went in expecting nothing and a little was what i got. while he smiled and mumbled his way through most of the classics, he sounded great on the reggae tunes and songs like at the movies and reignition. having said all that, i will definitely not be seeing them if they come around again.

These dudes were the biggest letdown of Fun Fun Fun Fest...don't waste your time or money seeing HR suck. I would feel bad for the rest of the band, but they go along with it, so fuck them too.

Contrary to popular belief, not every band coming through San Diegohas to "bust out some Reggae vibes".

Having lived there most of my life, I became quite sick of every band thinking they had to do some reggae. It's San Diego, not Jamaica.

If you want reggae, go see Common Sense. Next to the LA area, San Diego put a lot of Hardcore punk bands (I mean that in the older /fatser punk rock sense, not that metal hardcore shit) on the map.

I also say boycott the Bad Brains...They are just a waste of money these days (and have been for a long time).

I have heard they are hit and miss....some shows HR will actually sing, other times he will stand still and mumble.....its a chance im not willing to take. If they want to rape their audience they can go right ahead...just dont expect me to show up. And, I for one really love both their hardcore and reggae.....but in a live setting I want to see passion....and HR has absolutely none these days. With the utmost respect, I simply can't get behind this.

Not that most of you will care, but their booking agent says the Maui show has been moved to Kona on the Big island. The club is called Rockstarz.
and the Oahu show is still at Pipeline Cafe.
