It's not completely unheard of for a clothing manufacturer to use punk imagery in advertising. Just a few years ago, Nike was caught borrowing heavily from the work of Minor Threat.

Jack & Jones, a European clothing manufacturer, has produced a t-shirt that bears a striking resemblance to the logo of long-running punk band 7 Seconds. The shirt, which is available, at least, in malls across Canada, depicts the cover of what appears to be a 'zine called 9 Seconds. When the shirt design was brought to the attention of Side One Dummy Records, the band's current label, representatives said "Yea, that looks just like a 7 Seconds shirt, wow!"

this is not nearly as bad as the whole minor threat thing. I could actually believe they've never heard of 7 seconds. 5+ Replies

A friend of mine actually bought a shirt at Ross with the Lunnachicks on it. It wasn't a Lunnachicks t-shirt, they were just on it. Still no idea if they were paid for it.

Kevin's blog has been down for a bit. That's too bad. I was hoping to see if he knew about this and what his thoughts were as to how to handle it.

Think of it as a tribute where as the Nike drama was just for grabbing kids attentions. 2+ Replies

Cheers to me being a pussy last night and passing out. Got a voicemail from the girl I dig' sayin she was sad that I wasn't at the party with her and that she misses me. I'm great at setting myself up for missing opportunities, anyone else? If you want..I could probably give you some tips. 5+ Replies

People who design clothes were most likely raised on some kind of alternative music path. If this stencil-font look was on it's own with another collection of words, and not ONE CHARACTER off of 7 Seconds, I could see it being a coincidence, but believing anything other than that it's an intentional "homage" or ripoff is just plain fucking stupid. | Features

9 Seconds hasn't even released a good record since '84.
Fuck those guys.
