Ignite and Revelation produce vinyl bag for Sea Shepard Conservation Society

Ignite and RevHQ are teaming up to produce a special bag with the aim of raising money for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. According to the band, the society is "one of the best direct action groups protecting whales and other sea animals."

Ignite has been working with the group for some time and have produced the canvas bag with 100% of profits going to the society. his is a 16" x 15", 100% cotton canvas tote bag with two color printing on both sides. It's big enough to hold about ten LPs.

Wait you mean the folks from "Whale Wars"? Yeah I'm all for supporting the ban on whaling in reserves. However, there has to be a better way to do it than sending money to a bunch of ignorant, self righteous college kids, who verge on cult members. Honestly, it'd be bad enough if they were just overzealous, misled kids, but the guy who heads the whole thing up is a pompous fake, who has no problem putting these kids in mortal peril but never actually does anything himself.

Also, he fakes getting shot by the Japanese for good PR.

i'm glad there are people passionate enough to volunteer with sea shepherd. I think your stereotypical college bandwagon environmentalist wouldn't want to risk themselves by putting themselves between illegal fishermen and any of the sea animals the organizations help. I think they do good, much needed work. and attract media attention to animal rights issues that otherwise would go unnoticed. i guess its obvious im biased here ha. but I'm not too familiar with the number of missions the founder Paul Watson goes on, i've heard hes been assaulted many times and been shot at.

I think it's a good cause but I think many of the people who get involved are young and easily influenced, this is seen by the fact that they constantly have a huge turn over rate. These kids find their out of their league and that the leader of this thing, may not have their best interest in mind and the cut out.

It's like the people who are rioting in Oakland. Maybe the cause of stopping police brutality is noble but going about it like a goon and endangering others is stupid.

Do you even watch the show? If you can come up with a better way to fight illegal whaling, by all means let it be known. And I'm pretty sure most of the people on there aren't "kids", and aren't in college.

Gee...A better method than throwing people who have no experience sailing, or living on a ship or doing any sort of real organized work and put them in a boat in the middle of the freezing South Pacific and then have maybe one or two people with experience who do nothing but bark orders....Yeah, the mind boogles.
It's a noble cause but a stupid method.

I wasn't trying to pounce on you, although i disagree. that being said,Ive heard that criticism of sea shepherd before, and similar criticisms of peta. they're both radical groups, but they're fighting the extremes on the other side of the coin. in a perfect world, we could all sit down and talk about every issue and come to a resolution, in the mean time,i hope they keep up the good work

I agree. Our Darkest Days is one of my favorite melodic punk albums... and they pulled off a U2 cover and I actually liked it! I couldn't believe my ears.

If I recall correctly, the president of Sea Shepard (Paul Watson) was the one who said the death of the seals in the hunt was a greater tragedy than the deaths of four seal hunters who crashed last year in the Canadian Maritimes.

I'm a big animal rights supporter, but you are an idiot to make statements like that and compare two events like these, or to downplay the tragedy of four lost lives.

I can see where hes coming from, because the number of the deaths of animals, as well as the way they die, are far higher and more violent then the accidental deaths of the people who hunt them. i guess after the number of years he's worked against people who are really brutal in the way they kill animals, and profit off their illegal deaths, he's totally biased. even though i'd like to see a more global acceptance of animal rights, i wish just respected life in general, both human and animal. different life forms are just different, not worth more or less.
