Coachella 2009 with F*cked Up, My Bloody Valentine, TV On The Radio, Gaslight Anthem

The lineup for the 2009 edition of Coachella has been announced. Set to take place from Friday, April 17th through Sunday, April 19th, the fest will be headlined by Paul McCartney, The Killers and The Cure and feature Amanda Palmer, Antony and the Johnsons, Atmosphere, Band Of Horses, Billy Talent, Clipse, Dear and the Headlights, Franz Ferdinand, Fucked Up, Genghis Tron, Henry Rollins, Liars, Los Campesinos!, Mastodon, Morrissey, My Bloody Valentine, No Age, Okkervil River, Public Enemy, Superchunk, TV On The Radio, The Aggrolites, The Black Keys, The Cure, The Gaslight Anthem, The Hold Steady, The Horrors, The Killers, The Kills, The Night Marchers, Turbonegro, Vivian Girls, X and many more

If you're serious, it's just under $300 for the three days. I like the lineup, but don't think I'd shell out that much if I lived in the area.

No.

He's had his time in the limelight, it's time for new blood to get their own recognition. Paul McCartney has released sub-par material (and I don't even like him, or the Beatles, but by their and his own admissions) for the past few years. He's solely a legacy act, and needs no more attention. He can draw it just by saying his name, he doesn't need a website mostly devoted to alternative sub-cultures to champion him further.

i think the 3 headliners should have been emphasized- kind of an important part of the story. i mean imagine if you went to the festival and you were trippin balls and afterwards you find out you missed paul mcartney, the killers, and the cure.
and cmon, the beatles deserve some credit. i don't care if you're punk, hippie, or swedish even

I know this might not be the most popular sentiment, but I think it's pretty cool that you can see Paul McCartney, Morrissey, and Leonard Cohen, all in the same evening...Kind of a once in a lifetime experience right here . .

Also, Bruce Springsteen is rumored to be the secret guest for this year.

I'll take Harvest of Hope Fest over these overpriced, hipster events any day. There are definitely quite a few acts I wouldn't mind checking out, but with ticket prices, airfare, food and booze, there is no way I could ever afford this.
