Bonnaroo to feature Bruce Springsteen, Beastie Boys, Mars Volta

The initial lineup has been announced for the 2009 edition of Bonnaroo. The first batch of confirmed bands includes Bruce Springsteen, Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Wilco, The Mars Volta, TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Band of Horses, The Decemberists, Of Montreal, Coheed and Cambria, Animal Collective, Neko Case, Down, Kaki King, Okkervil River, Ted Leo And The Pharmacists, Portugal. The Man and Delta Spirit.

How about punks don't find music magical like hippies do. Punks have skateboards and BMX bikes, but hippies have longboards and their thumbs to get around. Punks don't experiment with music and or drugs like hippies. Political views. Hippies are always hopeful for change, punks are apathetic.

i try not to label everything around me cos i'm not a douche- but i've been to the punk festivals, and i've been to the hippie festivals, and my diagnosis is that punks are more oft to be assholes. hippies know how to party, and will embrace anyone and listen to any type of music. they're not as worried about what people think. they're into peace and love yea, whats wrong with that? how could that be a bad thing? they aren't bashing on you. they also outnumber you immensely

I don't hate hippies. I know it's strange, but theres' something that attracts me to chick hippies. Maybe it's the fact they smell stronger than i do? Who knows, all I know is when I'm at one of these festivals and all I see are dread wearing short girls twirling around in the grass I want to blow a load all over them.

Anyways, the majority of hippies I have met have really good drugs, and they are happy to do them with you.

if i had to join a side i'd totally go be a hippie. there are too many punk boners. more than half of the above posts are by dumb boners. hippies are way cool to everyone, have great drugs, and girls to spare. i've seen waaay more bangin hippie chicks than punk girls. hippie music is better anyway. i went to six years of warped tour growin up, but one langerado was enough to change my perspective. they named a ton of good bands up there- but it ain't way too impressive and it's a distance. i'll wait for rothbury

and speaking of langerado, where's the sad news? that shit got cancelled this year due to poor ticket sales, and why? i'd say because they changed the format of the festival. it needed camping- and it shoulda been in the everglades again, that was fantastic. but the main reason is probably the dramatic shift in the band lineup. indie was slowly filling it in for a couple years now, but this was a radical lineup jump away from jambands- to indie and punk. i mean gaslight anthem was on it! but apparently it didn't excite the 70,000 some hippies that went last year

dude, Rothbury was amazing...I've never been so fucked up in my life..it was so much fucking fun. Music was playing til 3 AM, over 50,000 people..so fun.

Best times were The Black Keys, Michael Franti, Modest Mouse, The Wailers, Keller Williams, Citizen Cope and Atmosphere. The whole setup was amazing, including sherwood forest. I've never seen anything crazier.
