Jimmy Eat World details "Clarity" vinyl reissue

Jimmy Eat World has announced the details for their vinyl reissue of Clarity. The vinyl will be available on the band's Clarity tour, and via their online store. The disc will be pressed on 180 gram vinyl and artwork is being produced as a gatefold. The disc will include the bonus tracks "Christmas Card" and "Sweetness (demo)" and online orders will include a Clarity t-shirt.

The band is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their fan favorite album, Clarity, by performing the album in its entirety at ten shows beginning this month. The shows kick off on the 23rd in New York City and wrap up March 7th in Arizona.

Clarity was the band's second major label album, released on Capitol Records. Despite lasting critical acclaim, the record did not perform to the label's expectations and the band was dropped. Their next album, Bleed American was self-recorded by the band and actually became their breakthrough release.

It's slowly being weeded through. I went through my old mrr's and tore out the norb columns and the george tabb columns that made me chuckle. The one about Black Flag making Henry ride with the supporting band was hilarious, all he did was talk to a cue ball the whole time.

I don't know if it's the smooth/warm vocals or what but to me a lot of the songs recall a 70's am radio/in store radio sortof vibe for me. I know it's hard to believe but I mean that in a good way. Shit gets in your head, like when I'd leave walgreens from a day at work and be whistling 'if you get caught between the moon and new york city' for the next 3 hours. It's a certain pop mastery. All these bands, it seems like because the skeleton of the genre might be easy to pick up they think they are the next ramones yet it is rare for me to find an album that has more than 1 and 1/2 catchy songs.

Joey Ramone was born in the wrong time period. He should have been a songwriter for bubblegum pop.

Dave Parasite (I'm not calling him Nikki) is an incredible pop-song writer. Every single one of those songs could have been AM radio hits in the early 60's. They are amazing. I'm also pretty sure every single one of them is about a dude. The pronoun game is used, never once is there a reference to a girl of any kind. Doesn't take away the fact that he crafted some of the best pop songs that nobody has ever heard.

Cool. This was their best record.

But I am still pissed about Limp Bizkit getting back together. Then I came across this and it kinda made me feel a little better even though the person is in a shitty band as well, but still better than Limp Fucking Bizkit!

I'm listening to Clarity now and I'm kinda bummed I'm missing this, but I like like 10 minutes from where they're so I'm hoping for something else more special here *crosses fingers*
