It's way better than PCL, but I don't know that I'd call it a sequel. I think the Beave adds a lot in progressing those similar ideas much further.

A lot of it was the songs from the excerpts at the end of every chapter.

I've heard that complaint a lot, but i didn't really find it that way. I mean, hell even 99 red ballons seemed to fit, somehow in an almost ironic way (which i figured was the purpose all along).

I just wasn't down for the inclusion of hallelujah.

The song choice had nothing to do with fitting moods. It was much more about lyrical content. If you read the comic, all of those songs were referenced throughout.

I understand why it was put in, but Purple Haze should have been playing during the Vietnam scenes or something. Where they put it made the movie seem like it was ending. Also Hallelujah was awkward. But the opening scene with Bob Dylan was amazing.

Also, we played with This is a Standoff! (ex Belvedere) in Guelph last night, their new shit is amazing. Like Belvedere but better. Their first album, in my opinion, was a watered down Belvedere, new stuff is incredible.
Also, Propagandhi took me a couple listens to get into it (like previous Propagandhi albums) but I love it now.

I think it was a necessary and well done change.

I saw it twice, didn't really like it the first time but the second time I enjoyed it a lot more. Still the book was much better but I understood why Zac Snyder changed the ending.

It is as close as anybody could have came to adapting it. I think the film manages to stand alone on its own merits pretty well. The only part i really didn't care for was the second sex scene was too long and awkward for my liking.

I would have loved to have experienced this when it originally came out. Having to read an issue and then wait for what I'm sure felt like forever to find out what was going to happen and who these characters were. The discussions I bet people were having about what happened to the characters and story were amazing.

N - absolute dross. Never read the book, but as a film it was just terrible. Very long, large portions with no plot or character progression. Just terrible.

Yeah Night Letters is the shit. But I think its the one mentioned in PCL liner notes that was written for PCL but not finished in time. So really his new songs for SC are the other two. Which are both pretty weak. This is Your Life is cool, it's actually grown on me a bit since I bashed it this morning (a few posts up), but it's nothing compared to Bringer.

I do thinks its cool that his song opened the album and I do like Right Letters the best out of his songs on the album. The opening riff to it sounds like something Dimebag would have written for Damageplan. This is Your Life is just a typical boring hardcore blast.

I agree that they aren't anything special technically. However they are still pretty sweet!

Probably "Twas Hell." If you don't like that then don't bother. I love that record.

Like someone said, they're split with Downway was great. Also, Downway's "Defeat Songs" is a fucking solid album. Good luck finding any of their albums though, unless you're gonna buy em off of iTunes, which is what I ended up doing. The one that's grown on me most is "Angels Live In My Town", but really, you can't go wrong with Belvedere.

He walks around with a very odd smile on his face the whole set. Just a huge creepy smile. Combined with the rockabilly look he has going on when he looks about 60, it just makes for a sorta pervy and creepy look.

I'm sure he's a good guy. I just wouldn't want him giving a 13 year old boy the look he walks around with.
