Taking Back Sunday plan 7-inch for Record Store Day

Prior to the release of their forthcoming album, Taking Back Sunday will be releasing a vinyl single for the track "Carpathia" to coincide with Record Store Day on April 18, 2009. The two song single will feature the live recording of "Catholic Knees" on the b-side.

Other bands scheduling special releases for Record Store Day include Gaslight Anthem, The Thermals and Thao with the Get Down Stay Down, Matador Records. Slayer and many others.

Taking Back Sunday will release their next full length, New Again, on June 2, 2009.

(yes, I'm posting this again, I wanna know if anyone else has had this)

Two days ago I lost almost all my vision in my left eye. After a zillion tests and a $1330 MRI, I've been diagnosed with Optic Neuritis. I'm gonna have to see a neurologist and get steroid treatments.

My left eye has 20/400 vision right now. This fucking sucks.

I had a teacher, he explained this to us, that suddenly lost hearing in one of his ears. He went to doctors and doctors to be told he had SHL. SHL is Sudden Hearing Loss.

What would be worse? Losing hearing or losing your sight?

It's a tough call... I'd probably choose to keep my sight, but not being able to listen to music would seriously blow.

I'm just saying shit like that just happens and the medical field has terms for 'sudden' occurrences with no cure to fix it.

I think I'd rather be blind than not being able so hear, but than again...

Honestly, I think I'd prefer to be blind.
The idea of now being able to listen to music.... I'd probably commit suicide... I'm not kidding.

The best would be to lose your voice... I'd have no BIG problem with that.

Meh, did I just make myself look like a douche? .... I hope not.

EDIT: Wait, I don't know which I'd prefer. Once I hit "submit", I sat here with both my eyes closed, and tried to walk to the kitchen... I'm bleeding now... seriously.
Plus, if I was blind, I wouldn't be able to see my girlfriend's face, and as cheesy as it may sound, that would be unbearable.

Wait.... nevermind... "almost all vision".

I originally read that as: lost all vision in left eye, 20/400 in RIGHT eye.

My mistake.

Still sucks though, hopefully that all works out.

Side-question: Did you happen to fall asleep while getting the MRI? I've had about 100 of 'em (give or take a few), and fall asleep in there like 95% of the time, which they always seem to get mad at me for doing.

Almost. But I they gave me these huge headphones with my choice of an FM radio station, so I chose the alternative rock station (101X in Austin). I heard a really bad Rise Against song and a bunch of other crap... I hate the fucking radio.

This just happened to my friend a few months ago. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and they gave him IV steroids for 3-4 days. He recovered all of his vision.

I was diagnosed with MS when I was 14. I went blind in my right eye. The steroids I took really helped. My vision isn't perfect, but I'm seeing again. I wear glasses for distance, but that's it.

Sounds like MS. My wife has it and Optic Neuritis is a direct companion to MS.

As a new store owner, I just opened up here in Western MA, Record Store Day fucking sucks. First of all, there's not one place to get all this stuff and it's starting to feel all these labels are just using RSD as an excuse to try and sell more shit.

I want to carry the Jesus Lizard 7" set and the other T & G release (I need to do an order for their records anyway), but their stuff is REALLY expensive for RSD.

Oh well, that's my rant....shit every day at my store is Record Store Day.......
