Are they still any good live? I've been wanting to see them, but tickets are usually like $30 and I don't want to pay just to see Billy Zoom's Retirement Plan.

seen em 3 times since they reformed with billie zoom. really great live. i definitely wouldn't miss them. who knows how much longer they'll play.

I read on his blog that Bob Mould saw them a year ago. He said they were good and that "punk's not dead".

I've seen them a few times on the reunion front. They sound great and stick to the punk classics. Exene is usually cranky but still sings good.

I hear they are still good. Plus it's the original band and they were good on Craig Ferguson when they were on that show.

even though i promised myself i would stop going to see reunion (or just way post prime) tours, i'm going to one of the new york shows. should i be excited?

I think they're still good, I saw them a few times when I lived back in LA. Until I saw them the first time say 8 years ago, they weren't doing any shows except for those few at the Palladium. Since then and up until leaving LA, they were pretty strong live.
