This year's Chaos In Tejas will take place in Austin on Memorial Day Weekend. The event, now in its fifth year, will kick off in the 21st and run through the 24th. A number of venues in the city will host bands like Propagandhi, Trash Talk, Cro-Mags, Annihilation Time, Fuk (ex Chaos UK), Cock Sparrer, Brutal Knights, The Thermals, World Burns to Death, Career Suicide, Amebix, Pierced arrows (2/3 of Dead Moon), Times New Viking, The Business, Krum Bums, Eyehategod and Iron Age.

I went last year and it was by far one of the most fun weekends of my life. I would LOVE to go again but I can't afford to blow a month's worth of rent to travel across the country again. The lineup this year was kind of underwhelming at first but has gotten better with each new announcement. Someone video tape the entire Judgement set and put it on YouTube.

The sad plight of the "one year later" college graduate. Ugh.

Yeah, I would have loved to have seen D4 last year. I'm jealous as shit of my brother living in Chicago though, even if he's a pussy about going to places like Reggies. You guys get some awesome shows.

D4 actually weren't that great at this. It was the only time I've actually wanted Paddy to shut up and play the songs, and you know when that happens something's wrong. Leatherface were pretty boring too, but all the earlier bands that day (Marked Men, Iron Lung/Hatred Surge, Straitjacket Nation) were awesome so it wasn't a big deal.

Wait, your brother is afraid to go to Reggie's? Does he realize that that's probably the quickest gentrifying neighborhood in the city?

Wow, that sucks to hear. He does tend to go on a little bit, but it was pretty hilarious when I saw'em at SXSW. I'm excited as shit for Career Suicide mainly because I never hear about them coming to Texas.

Oh and yeah, I think he's just heard bad things happening there in the past so he rarely goes to shows in that area. Plus, he's only been there like 2 years. I know nothing about Chicago though so who knows? All I know is that I would have seen Swingin' Utters back in March there. Can't believe he missed'em.

Yeah, I mean every other time he's golden, but oh well, wasn't too huge of a loss for me. I was talking to people down there that were so ridiculously excited because it'd been years since they'd made it down south, so when I mentioned that I was from the Midwest and saw them a couple times a year they stopped talking to me.

Yeah, I still haven't seen Career Suicide either. I know they played Chaos in 06 and also up here that summer but I missed it. They're doing No Way Fest this year too I think so I'm hoping they'll do an extensive US tour.

That Utters show was amazing. I hadn't seen them in over five and a half years by that point and had forgotten just how many amazing songs they have at their disposal at all times. Make fun of your brother next time you talk to him.

Also, how ridiculously amazing are Drunkdriver? I was in Reckless a couple months ago and the clerks were listening to the Born Pregnant LP while I was browsing and it was so good that I had to ask who it was and pick it up next time I was out. Also, Cock Sparrer are waaaay up there on my list of all-time, classic, best, favorite, last years shitty bands that I don't understand why people go ga-ga over them.

Also, Tiems New Viking is a pretty sweet name. I could see them touring with Cotton Promises.

Because they were one of the better 70s British Oi bands, don't play very often in the States and are still real good.
