Set Your Goals have posted the first video from their forthcoming Epitaph Records debut. The record is titled This Will Be The Death Of Us and is due out July 21, 2009. The album is their first since Mutiny! in 2006.

The track features guest vocals from Vinnie Caruana of I Am the Avalanche and The Movielife.

This song, for some reason, sounds more like the generic pop punk/hardcore that a day to remember does. Mutiny sounded a bit more aggressive and huge. I don't know. This also really straight forward and I kind of liked that structureless aspect to some of their older songs. Vinnie Caruana rules so fucking hard though.

The fact this song and that one almost metalcore sounding song are on the same album is going to drive me crazy.

Super let down, guys.

as cliche as it is to say the demo/Reset EP is the best thing this band will probably do. It is hard to judge based on only what I've heard from a single album but it feels like they lost the plot.

the band Resetor the EP? if you think the EP sucked you stink the only thing that sucked was the Jawbreaker cover that was added when they named it Reset and reissued it.

Dude, the vocals sounded AWFUL on reset. And not in that endearing out key way that Lifetime could get away with, the talentless and revolting kind of way.

I agree somewhat but musically Reset has the most seamless mix of pop and hardcore they've had.

This song/video aren't bad by any means on their own, but compared to the EP... Much more generic. :(

This video is kind of terrible. I hate those shots of them behind the elevator grates and leaning against the wall on the stairs.

I do enjoy the song though.

I thought the Jawbreaker cover was OK. What bothered me more was that the reissue put unnecessary pauses between the tracks when the whole thing originally had a seamless flow.

avocado is awesome. usually the way i roll is i just slice it in half, pop out the giant seed, and fill both pits with hot sauce. and then i just eat it with a spoon, breaking off scoops of avocado and dipping them in the sauce i poured into the pits. it's like a bread bowl, but no bread and way better.

musically it sounded pretty good... catchy, melodic, fast enough.... but the vocals were garbage. all three singers didn't fit. the syg singers sounded like they were trying to hard to actually sing... fail.

I like this band.

I feel like they're one of the only bands out there that are like "we play music, and this is what it's going to sound like."

So many "newer" bands that are out today try so hard to be a part of "something" that it's ridiculous, I don't think that SYG is like that at all.

The two singers work together so well too!

Vinnie Caruana is awesome too!
