Brand New change album title to ‘Daisy’

Brand New, who had just announced their album title and release date earlier this week, have now decided upon the title Daisy. The album was originally called and one can head can never die.

The release date, September 22nd, remains the same.

Actually now that I think about it, no, I don't agree with this. Because I liked YFW when I was 12 or 13. I also listened to NFG, Rufio, Saves The Day and other such bands at the time. Nothing but cheesy, whiny, pop punk. If I were to have heard YFW today, I'm not too sure how much I'd like it.

And I just straight up didn't like where their music went after YFW. It's not me being punx(my second fav band is Thrice), I just didn't like it.

I agree in that I don't like where they went after it. It was too drastic of a change for me, and I even saw them two years ago and they bored the shit out of me. It's one thing to play slower music but interact with the crowd or even acknowledge them, but they gave off such a pretentious ora I left and didn't talk to my (then) girlfriend the whole drive back. They sucked.

Would I like the album if it came out now? I'm not sure. But I would like it a whole lot better than the past two albums.

Since I've never really listened to Brand New to have an opinion and really dig the shit out of the other two, I guess I'll say Polar Bear Club. They're not bad at all, but I think they're a grower. Gaslight was like that for me at first too.

am!!! by far is the most overrated band. pbc is great and gaslights first record, sink or swim, is so much better than the 59 sound. the 59 sound is only half good, AM! never grew on me. i think brand new has grew past the days of your favorite weapon, and i like the way they're going.

2) Strike Anywhere - Chorus of One LP, Red Vinyl(not sure how many there are on red, but I know it's super limited)
3) The Get Up Kids- Woodson 7"
4) Bear Vs. Shark-Right Now You're In The Best of Hands....(This one I ordered presale and we got to choose the color combo we wanted. I picked Purple and White. I get an email later on from the label saying that the purple and white batch got fucked up and is now brown and white. Only 250 pressed.)
5) BVS- Terrorhawk picture disc.
6)Strike Anywhere- To Live In Discontent picture disc.

The first song I ever heard was Hollow Place and I loved it. Then I got the EP and it was easily the best EP I had ever listened to in mah life. May be an overstatement, but it's definitely up there. 3 of the songs on the EP are in my top 5 favorite songs by them.

The "I don't get PBC" comments are so much overdone than mikexdude's "I love PBC" comments. Right now, PBC are hated on far more than they're not, which means they're not at all overhyped, they're underhyped. And if what seems like 80% of the commenters here actively express their dislike of them, then you're not 'weird' for not liking them, you'd be 'weird' for liking them. The same thing happened with Gaslight; they were being loved by everyone, so the 'cool, unique and original' thing to do was comment saying "I don't get the Gaslight love". A couple months later, everyone was saying "I don't get the Gaslight love", so the 'cool, unique and original' thing to do was to say you still like them.

Everyone just shut up about it.

This is incorrect. Any "I don't get PBC" esque comments are a direct result of the "I love PBC" esque comments. People would not randomly state that they don't get a band if that band wasn't in some way being hyped up on here to the point where said person feels like they should be getting them in such a way that justifies that hype.

That is actually a way to gauge when a band is indeed overhyped, is when an influx of anti-hype ensues. Saying an influx of anti-hype means a band is underhyped is an absurd comment, since the anti-hype wouldn't exist without the overhype. If a band is hyped and no anti-hype occurs later, then it stands to reason that that band is not yet overhyped.

yeah like i said, the anti-hype is a result of the overhype - regardless of how many different people are hyping it up, overhype is overhype. Hype in any form will turn people onto something, where they can then hop on either the overhype bandwagon if they like it, or the anti-hype bandwagon if they don't. Vheissu. Probably one of my favorite albums ever, im listening to "Atlantic" right now.

Although i do love illusion of safety, vheissu is a great night album.
Listening to it during a snowy night seriously made me cry. It was so beautiful.
The songs just fit and with snow in my eyelashes.... Sorry for making this moment gay.

Vheissu is on my top 5. Atlantic is my favorite song off of it. It sucks that you think of snowy nights and I think of the occasional cold fronts south Texas got during that fall. It makes me miss high school. So damn fun/easy.

When has it ever with Thrice? Never have they repeated an album. I loved Alchemy. I thought it had some of the greatest moments of all their music. Digging My Own Grave, Silver Wings, Open Water, Lost Continent, Messenger, Broken Lungs, Child Of Dust. I did think there were some bad moments though like The Arsonist, Kings Upon The Main, Back Draft, Sky Is Falling. Fucking Digital Sea is amazing live. Ok im done.

The only albums I ever choked up for were Bad Astronaut's Twelve Small Steps... and Lagwagon's Resolve. For obvious reasons. I remember getting that giddy feeling when hearing Red Sky though. Especially with the harmonies.

But I TOTALLY disagree with that one statement. Like Moths To Flame and Hold Fast Hope are the only songs I can maybe skip. Every other track could arguably be someone's favorite.

dont judge a book by it's cover or in this case the music by its album title. lots of haters i can see... i hope daisy blows ur fucking brains out with sheer melodic bliss. anyways im all for thee change in name...quite frankly one head never dies makes no fuckin sense. dont judge the opinion and decisions of a mastermind of bands. laceys a genius.
