Yep Roc has announced a new album from Reverend Horton Heat. The record is their first (non-holiday) album since 2004's Revival and is described as the "'billy' side of rockabilly," with more influence from mid-20th century country music.
The album will be released September 1, 2009 and a deluxe edition will feature a custom metal speedometer packaging designed by Gamil Design, a bonus CD of some of artists covering The RHH songs and a commemorative shot glass. The band will kick off a tour for the album with headlining dates in the US followed by a US tour with Motorhead getting underway 8/28 in Minneapolis. Yep Roc Records (26 comments)

Like most of the recent albums from the Rev, it'll have two great songs and three okay songs rounded out by filler. 5+ Replies

Liquor in the Front and Full Custom Gospel Sounds were both great...then they seemed to dick with their sound (keyboards, lounge, etc) and I haven't liked much since then. Hopefully this will be a return to their earlier stuff...but how often does that actually happen. 1+ Reply
