Vans Warped Tour celebrates 15th anniversary with exclusive concert

The Vans Warped Tour will celebrate the touring festival's 15th anniversary with a special performance next month, parts of which will be broadcast in theaters nationwide days later.

The show will take place on September 6th at Los Angeles, CA-based Club Nokia, featuring performances by Warped Tour alumni Bad Religion,All-American Rejects, Katy Perry, NOFX, Ozomatli, The Aggrolites, The Decaydance All Stars, Ice T, Pennywise, Rise Against and Underoath. Blink 182 is also slated to make a special video appearance.

The show will be aired in 460 movie theatres across the United States on September 17th which will feature the performances along with behind-the-scenes footage.

no, cooler shit has probably happened at the vmas over the past 5 years than at warped tour. (then again i've really seen neither so i can't make that judgment call).

I really used to like Ice-T, or at least respect him. Then I saw him at Warped Tour when, in San Francisco, he insulted crowd members by calling them "faggots". I don't care if you're trying to be shocking or not, that's not okay.

Best thing ever was at Reading '06 when sonic boom six rolled out a big weird pink horse on wheels or whatever it was, during Body Count's set. Ice T actually uttered "ICE T IS NOT AMUSED!"

y'know, i never understood what ice-t's shtick exactly was. he's ostensibly a hardcore rapper who most famously did "cop killer," but then that song was closer to metallic hardcore at the time, and then to compound the contradictions, he's basically made a career out of playing cops on law and order, and in new jack city.

i don't get it.

Bad Religion and Ice T ALMOST make this worth going to, but who wants to suffer through garbage like Underoath, All American Rejects and Katy Perry? I mean, seriously, would there have been a bill with Cindy Lauper and Ratt with Black Flag and The Gun Club in the 1980's? I think not. Why has trashy pop culture invaded punk rock?
