Mike Kinsella, also known as Owen, has posted a new video from his next solo album, New Leaves. The record is due out September 22, 2009. Mike will support the record with a few special Chicago shows.

There are only two active bands whose new material gets me excited: Owen and Mock Orange.

I like to put on my really good headphones and listen to Owen albums and listen to all the little guitar quirks. Best stuff in the world.

Fully agree. Songs like "Declaration of Incompetence" are even more amazing with headphones on. He is a guitar badass for sure.

Spoiler alert: no matter what you think of the other owen albums, the new one will not be your favourite, but it will not be your least favourite either. and because it's owen, it's amazing regardless. And I love this video.

Actually, it will be both for me for a while.... I only got into the band after hearing this song, and I'm picking up the new album first.

Aw, you should go chronologically album wise. It'll make more sense. Actually, Start with American Football, then the Owen/Rutabega split, then the Owen self titled, and so on.
