A special line up of
MxPx will tour Japan and Malaysia this December with
Zebrahead. The shows are unique in that they will not feature drummer Yuri Ruley and guitarist Tom Wisniewski, but instead a few familiar ringers. On the tour singer/bassist Mike Herrera will be backed by
Ataris frontman Kris Roe on guitar and the Summer Obsession's Chris Wilson on drums. Wilson was prevously a member of MxPx, while Roe has been a friend and tourmate of the band since 1996, and as such the group will tour under the name "MxPx All-Stars." For the record, Ruley and Wisniewski are just taking a temporary break for this tour and will be back in the band afterwards.
The group is expected to throw a few
Ataris songs into their set along with other surprises. MxPx is supporting their upcoming
Left Coast Punk EP as well as an upcoming holiday album. The Ataris are currently finishing up their sixth album
The Graveyard of the Atlantic.
