African Elephants is not what I had hoped for. Although Dead to Me is a favorite of mine, this album just fails to hit the mark. I hold Cuban as one of my front to back favorite records of all time. The songs Chicken sings are amazing and seem like "his songs." Sophomore slump? Maybe. Boring songwriting and an overall missing of Jack, totally. Now I'm not saying that Jack's lack of appearance is swaying my opinion; moreso just saying that the songwriting is just not there.

I miss your inate ability to craft perfect pop punk while retaining the sense of urgency that comes with writing a punk tune.
