Videos: Black Flag documentary ‘Reality 86’d' streaming online

Director David Markey has made Reality 86'd available for viewing online. The documentary, originally released in 1991, focuses on Black Flag's final tour in 1986 in support of In My Head.

In the 70's, neighbors used to invite people over to watch slides or home movies of their vacations on a big
pull-out screen in the living room or something. That's exactly what this feels like.

Also, seeing the drummer from Painted Willie is the one that made this just makes me think of a line from Rollins' Get In The Van:

"... can't escape the pain of Painted Willie's soundcheck"

This era of SST always just seemed too disoriented and stoned for their own good. Not exactly compelling viewing, that's for sure.

Totally agreed with "worst lineup ... ever". I can't think that anyone looks at that lineup as "Black Flag". The tour, in hindsight, reaks of "obligation".

I'm in a small-but-existent minority when I'll go as far as to say that 'In My Head' is probably Black Flag's *best* album.

My War is by far the worst Black Flag album. I love the title track, but some of those songs are horrible. Loose Nut and In My Head are much better
