The Pop Up Records-curated tribute to Hum has been completed with a full track listing and summer release announced. Work on the project began a year ago and some of the bands participating include Junius,
Constants,
City of Ships,
The Esoteric,
TENT (Kellii Scott & Eric Gorfain ),
The Felix Culpa and
Funeral For A Friend. The lineup also will include a cover of Hum's most famous track, "Stars," by Solar Powered Sun Destroyer with Jawbox/Burning Airlines/producer J. Robbins.

I saw Hum once in like 2003 or 2004. They played some weird Festival in Alabama, with bands like Hatebreed, Taking Back Sunday, Andrew WK, and Rise Against...it was an odd line-up for sure. I had never heard Hum before, but they were really good.

Holy fuck. That Constants cover of "Bloom" is going to be tremendous. I'm actually pretty excited to hear this. I fucking loved Hum when they were around, but sadly never got to see them live. |
