Videos: Lou Reed and Metallica: “The View” (Directed by Darren Aronofsky)

IFC has premiered the video for "The View," the new single from the Lou Reed and Metallica album LuLu which earned this in-store signage. The video was notably directed by Darren Aronofsky of The Wrestler, The Fighter and Pi.

Explain to me the thought process of putting this song out a month before the album, it gets slammed, then you decide, "It really needs a video too!"

I agree. And I really didn't mind the production that much. But yeah, Death Magnetic was a total return to form, easily their best since s/t. I am looking forward to the proper follow up to it.

"Everybody's Rockin'" will always be awesome based solely on the fact that it was a giant middle finger to his record label. Oh, and also because "Wonderin'" is a fucking killer song.

It looks like Aronofsky actually used a high ASA rated stocked and didn't degrain the film, and it looks like those 'flaws' were amplified in post. Or they shot it on a digital camera ramped up the ISO setting and went for it. It looks similar to what he did with Pi, so my money is on grainy small film stock
