Hopeless signs Driver Friendly

Hopeless Records has signed Driver Friendly, The band has a trumpet and trombone player but is apparently not a ska band.

Hopeless Records? I didn't realize they still existed. Besides their staples like AAA and whatnot, I always liked their subcity shit, like Fifteen and--holy shit, it's Batman!

I'm friends with these guys and I'm glad they got signed, even if Hopeless isn't the most glamorous label right now. They've self-released 4 albums since 2004. Kind of a pop punk/indie sound, and the horns add an atmospheric layer. Gooood stuff.

That description just makes me think of the band Pain, and now I'll only be disappointed by what could be an otherwise excellent band when I inevitably discover they're not as good as Pain. Thanks, PunkNews. I'm sure Driver Friendly appreciates your marketing.

Perhaps they're some kind of a Funk or Rhythm and Blues outfit. They've got brass too, and... are completely worthy of being reported on by PunkNews.
Realistically, though, it's probably a We Are the Union type band.
