Updates from Morrissey on health issues

Morrissey has issued a statement on the recent health issues which hospitalized the Smiths' singer and forced the cancellation of several dates. He said this:

The reports of my death have been greatly understated. Once admitted to the William Beaumont Hospital at Royal Oak in Michigan, I received treatment for concussion, a bleeding ulcer, and Barrett's esophagus. The positive from all of this is that there are now no known ailments left for me to try.

I am fully determined to resume the tour on February 9 at the Chelsea Ballroom in Las Vegas.

I don't HAVE any ill wishes, I LIKE Morrissey. My post was simply meant to be contrivedly weird: the details behind Morrissey's condition would make the reader inevitably picture his intestines and I would somehow enjoy the thought of said intestines because I'm strange. That's all. Assuming that it's ill-intentioned is kind of a stretch, especially since I'm the kind of person who will just outright say I don't like somebody should that be the case.

Aren't I one of the few people on this site who still vocally stands behind Morrissey despite my misgivings with his last three albums? How is it that I somehow manage to get more hate on this site from fans of bands I like than the people who blatantly insult said band?

Now I'm expecting Jeff Rosenstock to come back and start calling me an asshole again after telling him I put 'Vacation' on my 2011 list.

I liked it, and I like the majority of BtMI!'s discography which I've purchased in its physical formats, and yet both fans and band members will call me a "hater" if I voice even the most banal complaints over a particular song or production quality. Blind worship isn't one of my character traits.

this has to be a joke, right? practically every week there's a post about some dumb nobody modern hardcore band releasing some dumbass homophobic press release or something. people don't like their opinions either. it's just that morrissey has made a very, very long career out of dull music and being extremely self involved and so people tend to hate him a little more.

shit, actually no, i won't do that. to me, personally, his music is dull. i think the guy's written a few songs i've liked and lots and lots more that i've tried (very hard) to like but i just can't get into him. it's more just the fact that he's a) irrelevant and b) a prick.
