They were both on the split they put out last year with The New Threat. The third song on that record - The Towel is better than both IMO.

What happened with them supposedly re-signing to Hopeless a few years back - Nothing I guess, but did it all go horribly tits-up?

This song is way too unoffensive for Guttermouth, maybe they're hoping it'll get radio play ala She's Got the Look. I dig the song though.

Wow, that production is fucking awful.
I sure hope they did it themselves using stuff they already had.

As far as the song, it sounds like a Vandals late-90's c-side.
