Mustard Plug has a new rhythm section. If you saw them on the second leg of the Ska Is Dead tour you would have caught a preview of their new drummer John Massel. The band's new bass player is Rick Johnson. He played in the band Wack Trucks and recently toured with Dan Potthast. The band's prior bassist, Matt Van, is now playing for Uncle Kracker and ex-drummer Brad Rozier is busy with his new son and job.
The band will hit the road this fall. They're planning a set of Midwest college and club dates in September and November and the West Coast Ska Is Dead dates in October. The should be announced soon. Hopeless Records (29 comments)

Well the fact that Matt is getting $600 a week on the Plug tour - which doesn't include his room and food is being completely paid for - would surely help make your decision. Rick Johnson is amazing though, a great guy and a great bass player. He's got a solo project too, Rick Johnson's Rock'n'Roll Machine, which is very much akin to Atom and his Package, I highly recommend it.

Wow, I am amazed, I remember these guys back in well 95, they were still changing, losing horns left and right but I have always and will always see these guys. They are nothing short of awesome, especially live. Granted there best album personally is still Big Daddy Multitude, but I have something about the sax. I saw them with John on drums at Skappleton, and I hope to catch them sometime this summer yet. I am gonna miss Brad, he has been such a nice guy to me and my friends, but a son is a worthy reason to quit so I wish him well in his endeavor. A plugger since 95, and til the day I die! 1+ Reply

I don't think these changes will make much difference. I bet that wack trucks guys happy, they didn't seem to be getting anywhere. They weren't to bad though. | Features
