Reviews

Before you read on, keep in mind that I am a novice in the fields of both hardcore music and review writing. So, it was a little intimidating to have my first review be of a hardcore band.

In a nutshell, "Suffering the Loss" is chugga-chugga hardcore with lots of ridiculously fast double-bass and growly vocals that scream about "holding on" and things of that sort.

It's the classic recipe to a CD that you can throw in when you're riding in the car with a friend and rest assured that you're not gonna miss your favorite part on account of intense conversation. There aren't any incredibely captivating or technical passages that would require your full attention, but that doesn't make it bad.

In fact, there are plenty of good moments, including the ultra heavy and slow chug parts that feature predictable, yet enjoyable syncopations.

Really, the only thing I didn't enjoy is the fact that a few songs--including the last track on the CD--end with un-resolved fade-outs, giving the listener monster audio blue balls.

To give you the a taste of how akward that feels, I'm going to end the review... in about.... 3 seconds....

OK, it's over.

Just saw Terror and Comeback Kid last night and I have come to the opinion that they are both better than Figure Four. The opinion will probably change in the next couple days when the adrenaline wears off.

Well, since the author decided that we're all sharing our shit with the rest of the people on this site, I may as well join in:

Today, mine was about 6 inches long, a dark brown/green color. Quite solid, may have been resting inside the sphincter for quite some time. Smell was rather bland, kind of like cardboard. Oh yeah, and corn.

forget about "suffering the loss" i suffered while reading this terrible review. i'm sorry, but i agree with the guy who posted a couple below me. how can you start a review by saying that you don't know anything about the topic. do us all a favor, and next time, keep it to yourself.

Awesome album, F4 is one of the greatest canadian hardcore band ever. Review is indeed horrible. You don't know a thing about hardcore, so why review hardcore albums?

Mediocre, but in terms of christian metalcore, no one is worse than 7th Star.

Yeah...I got a demo of this CD back in June. I think I've listened to it once. I couldn't tell any of the songs apart and it was way too predictable and generic. If they changed stuff around a bit so all their songs weren't the same damn thing it would be much better.

I saw these guys at some Christian Hardcore shows. There were a bunch of kids doing spin kicks and ninja shit and actually aiming for other people.

I can't tell which I hate more, chugga chugga "woe is me" hardcore or Jesus.

But they were better than most of the other bands. They get the score in their name.

i decided that i won't support this band because they promised me a free demo tape when they weren't signed. i was gonna help em out by handing it off to risk records when i worked for them. but, they never sent me shit so fuck em

Ok, I've never heard this album, but I think I saw a segment on a pro-wrestling themed band called figure four on some tv show a few years ago. Is that this band? 'Cause that would be cool. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

that would be a better analogy if you would have stopped the review in mid sentence.
see you ended your review with a sentence saying you were ending it, with a period at the end
