Back in February of 2002, Royce Nunley announced his departure from The Suicide Machines. Me being an incredibly huge fan of TSM for years, I was really upset, as Royce is one of the better bassist in the scene today. Not 3 months passed when I discovered he formed a new band called Blueprint 76, and already had an EP coming out entitled Into The Flames. I got my ass on I-55, and headed towards the Fireside Bowl to check them out, and pick up the release.

Everyone click this link and then the number it tells you to click. I know Royce's studio kicks much ass. When I saw them, I liked his Bass. It was pretty and Sparkley and all cool and '60's looking. Can't say much for the band though. My friend thought that he might like 'em better if he bought the cd and let 'em sink in........he was pretty pissed the next week. They're not bad, but Royce is a very cheesy frontman. Royce is one of my favorite bassists of all times.... it really makes me sad that he stepped down on bass duties for Blueprint 76 too. Now he's just doing vocals. Yeah, I've seen them 2 times. There is definatly nothing remotely amazing about this band, except that they're tight....but come on, I mean lots of bands that suck play tight sets. Sure, the Suicide Machines haven't put out a killer realease since 3 or 4 albums ago, but at least they didn't start out sucking. great band.this release has been out for a while...alot of their new stuff is more heavy, and really awesome.theres a song on their website called "1984" thats amazing.. these guys played a show in cincy and rocked first, asshats. |
