I'd like to make a toast. I'd like to raise our glasses and toast Time In Malta's new full length on Equal Vision Records Alone With The Alone. Like a fine bottle of wine, Time In Malta keep getting better with age. After a few tumultuous lineup changes, Time In Malta have returned with without a doubt one of the best CD's of 2004. This thing just fucking rocks... and rocks hard. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
I've seen magazines like Alt Press and Revolver giving this album shitty reviews, but the more "elusive" zines and the like (AMP, Outburn to name a couple) are raving about the album and I join them. TIM expand a little on their unique formula of hardcore and rock and make an incredible new album based on it. The only thing I have to say bad about this CD is that the song "Bare Witness" probably should have read "Bear Witness" if I'm reading the lyrics correctly. This album gets my dick hard. to all the people riding this bands little dick: TIM is great but everytime I see them live I'm the only one who knows their stuff. Damnit people come to their shows they rock. I like their first album because that one track on there was the closest that I was going to get to new Quicksand. "Spin magazine circa 1993 called, they want their reviewer back." Haha, what the fuck ever happened to Jughead's Revenge (Jugg's Revenge)??? were they doing hardcore dance offs for beloved? I don't know but the one beloved song i heard sounded wayyyy emo i saw them a couple of weeks ago when they opened up for beloved they were really good but nobody knew their music. but then everyone was wearing tight pants and having silly hardcore dace offs... so maybe there was something in the bottled water. I thought all the songs on their last album went on too long. Those are Prevent Falls songs, brah. their first album had way too much filler. 'into' and 'k consumption' owned though. but anyway, this album is much better. good job for them. I never really understood why their last album was rated so higly by some of the staffers on this site. Sure, it had some cool music, but I'm not really a huge fan of the singer. He reminds me of the guy from Jugghead's Revenge, and that is not a good thing i thought their first album was criminally underappreciated. maybe because they never tour. Mars in Malta! Spin magazine circa 1993 called, they want their reviewer back! time in malta is really good. what sucks is that, because they have singing parts (which are well done, not whiny or obnoxiously "emo" or anything), they get lumped in with all the bad sing/scream hardcore bands around now (atreyu, fata etc). they're a good band that is GREAT live. i'll be picking this up. Soft interludes for over-produced, too over-the -top breakdowns. Boring. That wasn't biased or anything... to the guy that wrote the review: fuck you buddy. |
