Round Two

In the blue corner wearing blue trunks with white belt is the one and only "Arming The Proletariat With Potato Guns." Weighing in at two minutes and twenty-four seconds long, this fighter is known for its offensive yet colorful jokes and no real structure at all. Trainer El Hefe brought out the brass in the form of a trumpet for this fight to help layer the sparse guitar and drum work.

In the red corner wearing black trunks with red belt is "I Am Going To Hell For This One, weighing in at 3 minutes and 36 seconds. Musically bearing a strong resemblance to selections from the now-famous fighter, The Decline, the lyrics however are far from the serious manner of The Decline. This fighter will be coming out of the corner with some lo-fi feedback and a bass line a-blazin'. Don't expect the fighter to stick with it very long, however, as halfway through the round the fighter will go back into an extended breakdown and eventually fade out into obscurity.

Round two has definitely been a better fight than round one musically, even if it's just for the fighter in the red corner's resemblance to portions of the acclaimed fighter The Decline, who retired in 2000. The main upside to this contest however is the ability for "I Am Going To Hell For This One's" ability to keep humor involved in this match while taking itself seriously musically.

At the end of the second round there's only one question that begs to be asked. What's a Jewish dilemma?

    My Score:

FAT MIKE, YOU'RE A LEGEND! I've made sure to see you the last two times you've come to Australia and I haven't been disappointed, Brisvegas went apeshit for you guys. I'll have to admit that i'd rather have the songs in MP3 form or on a cd because who the fuck besides our parents/grandparents actually has a record player anymore? Fuck what all the loser dickheads have to say about you, the internet is just packed with whining trendy dickheads with no concept of real punk music/ethics and its just so easy to hate shit. I know you are keeping it real. Stay punk and put some more breakdowns like the end of Church and Skate on your new cd. cheers

I can't believe I just witnessed so much drivel in the last few minute looking at these reveiws. Obviously some of you have a clue, but the rest of you.... If your so fucking punk why are on here crying about your nine bucks you spent on the Rock Against Bush cd. Nobody forces you to buy anything. Do you really think it's free to create and release a cd. Either way it goes what did you do to help get Bush out of office. Maybe it didn't quite work but at least Fat Mike tried in the best way he could to start a movement against him. Trying to unite punks for a good cause instead stiring up all these little bitches and their stupid fucking whining and crying. That's all it is. You have no idea about what makes punk so good. Go beg your momma for some more money and get some emo or something.

Fat Mike is bisexual. If you dont believe it then ask him at a show and he will tell you the deal. I asked him at a show last year and he said he was.

last months was better and the April one is the best yet . NofX has been making my ears happy for as long as I can remember . I hope that they keep doing the same . 1.is there an age limit to be punk?,I hope not my age is getting up there in numbers.2.If you think that these records are a rip off don't order them, if you had any sense you would realize its actually a good investment.3.I'm sure Fatty isn't happy about Bush getting re elected ,but at least he tried to make a difference.4.I hope Fatty gets filthy rich .....why not.5. keep having fun making your music, but this record only gets 2 stars from me . Morons, Morons, Morons and to think you bitch about a band that has some influance is the scream-o crap you all call music. If you would open your minds and eye's this is called "punk rock", it dosent follow your rules or your way you think music should go. NOFX have been and always will be a punk rock icon and I for one dont want them to change or stay the way the are in the least bit.

Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 9:26 AM (EDT)

Usually on reviews at least one person will write in and say the album is the best thing ever... not happening with this one though. I wonder if NOFX has lost the crucial "massive poser" demographic?

    My Score:

    Medio-core
    It's not forsaken
    The music they're makin'
Will leave you with a feeling of indifference
    How was the band?
    They were okay (okay)
    Not great (all right)
    But pretty good
They played the songs I knew they would
    Some old
    Some new
    The same formula stays true
    We can concur
    It's medio-core

    Sing
    Sing a song
    Make it simple
So all the kids can sing along (ahh)
    Sing along (ahh)

    The list keeps growin'
    The melodies been stolen
Remind me of songs sung in the 70's
    You might fool the kids
    But you don't fool me
Have you ever heard of something called
    aboriginality?

    Is it absurd
To compose music no one's ever heard
    Predictability
Like a bussom will comfort them
    My one true foe
    L.C.D.

    (Medio-core) It's under powered
    The riffs are all deflowered
    (Medio-core) It's spreading faster
    Than British tooth decay
(Medio-core) Are you ready to rock?
    How ya'll doing tonight?

    Posted by Fat_Mike on 2005-04-26 17:14:11

here's a few things: first off, I like the review. I don't think this record deserves any more than 3 stars. It's my least favorite of the first 5 seven inches, but I do kinda like the joke song. I like the april seven inch a lot more. As far as people saying that all these songs are gonna end up on a cd anyway. not gonna happen. Probably, every one of these seven inches will have something on them that will be exclusive to the vinyl. A few of the songs we might re-record with changes for our next CD and a few of the songs we might just use, but a lot of these songs are not going anywhere else. A lot of them just aren't that good. That was the idea of this club, to record whatever we felt like and not worry about the quality of each song. It's actually been the funnest time we've ever had in the studio. Lastly, if $6.50 including postage is too much for a limited edition colored vinyl disc, then don't get it. It's not like we're gonna have any left over. later, fatty
