good to hear the new songs sound so heavy. my biggest pet peeve is the natural tendency (especially in hardcore) for bands to go softer/slower with each new album. here's to bands who up the intensity with newer records. thanks for the kind words. we had a great time at the show and thanks a lot to mike for putting us on. however one clarification: WE'RE NOT FROM LONG ISLAND. we practice in queens and half of us were born and raised here. the other two guys have to live with their shameful upbringings. i grew up in flushing; not quite a suburb. sorry for any confusion. in the end it doesn't really matter i guess, but we don't want to be misrepresented. the album should be ready at the end of the month. thanks to everyone who backs us and all the kids who take the diy ethic and hardcore punk to heart. Jeff from MLIW here. "This band falls into what I like to call "awesomecore." It's hardcore, but yet, it's awesome. Awesomecore." If only Razor Ramon would give a Razor's Edge to some tough guy hardcore kids... -Someone already beat me to posting my photoblog ::scratches head:: dis- bands are great, and MLIW is too. Awesome. razor ramon was supposed to be originally based off of tony montana. Someone already beat me to posting my photoblog ::scratches head:: Razor Ramon was a wrestler, probably better known by his real name (Scott Hall). Razor Ramon was Hall's character in the WWF in the early 90's, his gimmick consisted of talking like a stereotypical Latino tough guy (he used the word "machismo" a lot) and he was always chewing on a tooth pick. If he didn't like the guy he was talking to, he would throw the toothpick at them and then a fight would break out. The character disappeared when Hall defected to WCW with Kevin Nash because the WWF owned the rights to the character. This sounds like a great show with a surprisingly diverse bill. Hate to sound like a jerk, but, finally, some actual punk is reviewed on this site! Nice job. BTW, who is Razor Ramon? Score is for the 538 Johnson show. It was one of, if not the best show i have ever seen. Brooks' songs are awesome. And he totally owns it live. http://ambulancephoto.blogspot.com/ "he probably meant "stagger lee", the same song/character the clash references in "jimmy jazz"". I mean Ramon. score is for Razor Ramone reference he probably meant "stagger lee", the same song/character the clash references in "jimmy jazz" Wow, I've never seen them do that Black Flag cover. Way jealous. it's kinda weird...DEADRAMONES is about the only song I can really get into, but I freakin love it, so i still gotta put in some words of respect. plus they're from Marshaltown and they made it out, that place is a shithole. |
