Simplicity. It's what we all should strive for. The more clustered and complicated we make our lives, the worse things will get. The Riverdales embody simplicity. As a hard-hitting three piece, The Riverdales strip modern punk of effects, mixing and matching styles, and rich-man quality production. What's left is a loud, three chord sonic assault in the vein of the Ramones and Green Day. This album was produced by Mass Giorgini and Billie Joe Armstrong, if that tells you anything. Most of the songs are upbeat, but my two favorites are ironically the slower tunes "Back to You" and "I Think About You During The Commercials". Oh yes, if I haven't mentioned it already, this band features Ben, Dan and Dan from Screeching Weasel! If punk rock has gotten a little too complex for you lately, the Riverdales are a great place to start getting back to the simple life. No gimicks, no emo, no hardcore, no hair gel, no guitar solos, nothing but good power-punk. If you like Green Day, the Ramones, or Screeching Weasel, you'll definitley enjoy this record. surprise surprise, more shitty punk rock, I feel sorry for the people who can stand to listen to this. If you don't like this band or this record, that proof enought that you like men... and if you're a girl and you don't like this record you're a fuckin dyke saw the riverdales back in 95 when they were tourin with green day......good shit then and good shit now.....i love this record The only regular member of Screeching Weasel not in The Riverdales... Jughead. I thought that was kinda funny. i'm not sure if that was obnoxious or funny. woops, i meant to give that last comment a 5 eh...i downloaded some of the songs from this album and i wasn't all that impressed at the time. i may enjoy it more if i give it another listen, but this just wasn't for me, and i'm a green day fan. I'm not saying they're bad, i just didn't love it when i listened to it. Good Shit!catchy Ramones Style Rock 'n' Roll! Boy sets fire would rip them a new asshole...... just like they did to AFI. Why is this Larry lawrence guy comparing bands that have nothing to do with each other? BSF could kick their ass it's a numbers game though. The riverdales still rip anyway. these guys are simple because they basically copied everything ramones Boy Sets Fire could beat these guys up.... to a bloody pulp. These guys ARE pop-punk the best in fact, hands down muthafucka both riverdales' records are fuckin great, but i have to agree, storm the streets is where it's at. this is a great album, but "Storm The Streets" has the real goods. |
