Maps and AtlasesMaps and Atlases: You and Me and the MountainYou and Me and the Mountain (2008)Sargent House Reviewer Rating: 3 Contributed by: InaGreendaseBrian (others by this writer | submit your own) Maps & Atlases are often relegated to the math-rock pool, but any band that dips their toes in this proverbial water usually gets a mention -- Minus the Bear, Tera Melos, etc. al. Maps & Atlases have barely the tip of the nail in there, and maybe that's why they're getting the tag. But the band's.

Saw them live, which was alright. I mean, it's impressive, but not really my favorite thing. But they seemed like "nice guys" or whatever. When I listen to these guys I just think they are ripping off Minus The Bear, musically. I mean like...majorly aping their style. No thanks. First ep was like WHOA, this one is like WELL OK and the newest on their Myspace is like AW. One-trick pony |

This album does not compare to the masterpiece that is Tree,Swallows,Houses but this is still a good record. Great live band too.
