There are certain bands that you can see a million times and everytime they play better than the last. One of these bands are Catch 22. On December 31st Catch 22 sold the trocadero out in Philly. It is one of Philly's biggest Venues for those who dont know. They played with Wakefield (although I was on the train at the time). Auto Pilot Off who played an incredible set. The always incredible Ensign, who got the crowd Two-stepping and having fun. The Movielife who are one of those bands that know matter who you are you like. And then head lining was catch 22. They opened up with the new song straight foward, and the crowd was going. They then played some old songs, and there wasnt a person in the house singing along. On stage the guys seemed really stoked to play in front of such a great crowd. At the end of the set Kevin announced that this was the greatest moment in his music career to have sold out the trocadero. They closed the set with an auncore supernothing. It was one of those shows that you find hard to top.

About a week later I got in my car and drove back to school in sunny redneck north florida. I was stoked to see at the local cd store to see a flyer for The Suicide Machines and Catch 22 for January 22 at the free bird Cafe. The local Jacksonville Hardcore Favorites opened up Evergreen Terrace who are incredible live. They have an awsome metal hardcore sound and they also play one of the greatest covers I have ever heard of U2s Sunday Bloody Sunday. Than Catch 22 came one. The Free Bird Cafe is a cool local venue that is not that big and it is a great place to have sing alongs at. Again they just blew me away. This time it was not neer home and they still played an incredible set. The suicide Machines came on next played next and well they are the suicide machines so what else can I say but they are friggen awsome. This is the second time I had seen them play and they are so fun to watch.

After the show I got a chance to talk to Kevin and he was stoked to here that I was at the troc show. He was still so happy about having the troc show sellout he said that I was the 10th person that he had talked to on the tour that was at that show. He was also really happy to be on tour with the suicide machines. He claimed them to be the nicest band to be on tour with. We talked for a bit more and I got on my way, only to be pulled over later that night for speeding on my way home. The cop pulled me over and asked if I knew why I was getting pulled over and well I thought to myself its because I am from NJ.

I highly recommend that everyone checks out Catch 22 on the Victory tour with Reach the sky it is going to be a hell of a show.

this review sucked. the trocadero is not even close to being one of the largest venues in philly. plus the review sucked.

the troc can fit 1500 people? i thought it could fit like 300im such a bad judge of size.

Dude Im not trying to be a poser look down the list someone asked me how many shows I go to. I answered to tell them that yeah I do go to shows. They wanted to know how long I listen to music for So I said. As for the trock compared to tower theatre, the pontiac grill, and the TLA the place is huge. All these comments are bull.

no actually i live in suburban chicago. im not trying to out do anyone, im trying to prove a point on how stupid punk kids are and how they shit there bands every time they see a band or talk to a band member. fuck this whole deal its so fucking stupid

dude the trocedero is not one of the largest venues in philly. in fact of the "major" venues, as in ones that actually sell tickets, its the smallest. had catch 22 sold out the Electric Factory then that would be something since thats the largest venue that punk bands play at,ie saves the day, blink 182(i know i'll get reamed for calling blink punk), bouncing souls. so selling out the troc isn't such a big deal buckoo. it only fits like 1500 people compared to the electric factory with 5000 or the tla with 3000. next you'll be saying the tower theater is a tough place to sell out with all 300 or so seats available.

a few things i just forgot to mention... "look at me, i'm punk as fuck, i'm hardcore! roar! i go to punk shows every night! i've been listening to punk since the day i was born! hell, my mom used to put headphones playing the sex pistols up to her stomach when i was in her womb!"... dude, for real, grow up, no one on here is trying to outdo one another, being like "oh i know this band, and i go to these shows, and i say that this band (who has more musical talent than i do) sucks, and i started listening to punk soo long ago"... that's shit that "posers" pull (notice posers is in "s cause i don't paticularly like using the term) stop trying to act cooooool and what not

    lou-s (April 1, 2002)

hey mr. cell-phone guy, do you happen to live in lancaster PA, cause i know a dickhead like you, who likes to drop names every chance he gets, and i seem to remember him saying something about knowing catch 22...i'll bet your the same kid... it's shitheads like you who make me wanna commit mass murder

Whose cell numbers do u have?? Dickwad. I work for the damn label and think you all should just eat a fat dick. Catch are some of the nicest guys around. Who cares if a band signed to Eulogy?? It's a great label and all but honestly. Evergreen Terrace does suck anyhow. Unearth is by far the best band on the label.

Ok to the person that called me a little fuck head back there, I was writing a review to talk about 2 good shows that I had gone to. You wanted me to criticize bands online. That sounds great, I have gone to some pretty bad shows before, like ones that when you walk out you wonder why you waste money but I dont believe you should talk shit online about it. And every band that did play at those shows were awsome. And by the way Lets clap it up for you since you have there cell numbers.
I have been into music for about 6 years or so now. And you wonder how many shows I have gone to before. Well I went to three last week. No Lie. I saw Diecast, Unearth, 1/5th, and Evergreen Terrace on Thursday, Sunday saw Anti- Flag, and Good Riddance, and on monday I saw Poison the well and Strife. So I do go to shows. And dont come back with a bullshit comment like Hardcore and ska dont mix. I go to as many shows that I can If I am home or not. And in my review I dont think I sounded star struck when I talked to catch 22. I was just stoked to get to talk to some people from home that know what musics about. We actually talked more about Jersey and where I live than anything else.
And about the show in Jax it was incredible. Evergreen Terrace is an awsome band that you should here more about in the future, since they just got signed to eulogy records. And well the suicide machines are the suicide machines and they always play a sick set. And the Philly show was just fun so there you go.
Sorry for my spelling and grammer mistakes I dont mean to have them. I just never reviewed it before I sent it.

looking for a chance to name drop?! oh i think sooooooooooo. he/she was just trying to show how the band felt about their shows and the point that their band is at

do they have a new singer yet or does the trumpet player sing or waht/

    Kurtpunkskacheese (March 30, 2002)

you are a bastard, with a pms problem or somthing. i think the writter of this review was excited to meet the band because he probly hadnt before. And i dont thing anyone gives a shit if you have there cell numberes, your the fuck head.

    Anonymous (March 30, 2002)

whatever man, why do you get so excited over catch 22. I know the band, i have there cell numbers. its not that big of a deal that you talked to the band. fucking loser plus your not much of a critic, every band you see seems to be the best fucking live show. how many bands have you even seen live, how many concerts have you even seen, when did you first get into music you fuck head

    Anonymous (March 29, 2002)
