Not a lot is known about Failing English. To start off, they're from St. Louis. They've been around for about 2 years and they've been turning heads since they've started. They haven't toured a lot, they've never recorded a full length. And they're not signed (although there is talk that there are some labels looking at them currently). But Failing English gets credit where credit is due.

In this case, the credit is due cause they rock. Simply put, these guys are amazing live and with their second EP just released independently, they prove they are amazing in the studio as well.

This recording only has 3 songs on it. And although that may seem like a letdown if you're a Failing English fan, rest-assured that these songs do not dissapoint one bit.

Song one is the radio-friendly "Long Way Home". The song is the catchiest thing I've heard in a long time. Believe it, if this were to catch radio, it would be on all the time. Hands down.

Song two is "Johnny Utah". Basically this song goes away from being catch and makes you listen to how good of musicians these guys really are. They are just out to make you sing along, but to make you appreciate what they do. This song has a real "get up kids" feel to it.

Song three is the best on the cd. It's called 1027 (ten-twenty seven). It's a VERY well done emo/rock song that stays true to the bands pop/punk sensibility. Think Jimmy Eat World but not still having that Nofx tinge.

Overall, the band has shown that they will probably be one of the "bigger" acts in the future. Locally, they are making a very large dent in the side of their scene. It's only a matter of time before everyone gets a taste.

Yeah the bass player of this band is my cousin. Yeah thats right my cousin, I deserve credit for being his cousin! Too bad I don't get too see him that much cause my mom doesn't like her sister. His younger brothers are Charley and Joey and there like 2 years older then me.

these guys opened for Midtown in Springfield Missouri earlier in the year. and although they weren't the best band there, they were really good. not as good as midtown though.

This band is awful! AND the guy wrote this review about his own band. HHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. What an absolute moron. This band is a total joke, no one will ever take them seriously now.

Hahaha....someone is tooting their own horn. I went and downloaded that song "Long Way Home" that would supposedly be all over the radio if it ever got loose. Someone's dreaming. And agreed....writing a review of your own CD is beyond lame.

I think he give a good impression of what they sound like. Nofx mixed with Jimmy Eat World? Sounds like another Get Up Kids or New Found Glory. Do we really need another? I hope this reviewer has described them incorrectly.
