My Chemical Romance have announced that their performances this weekend have been cancelled. The band's drummer Bob Bryar was admitted to the hospital Thursday due to a staph infection and complications resulting from injuries sustained while shooting a video last month. Taking Back Sunday and Circa Survive will still play the shows this weekend as planned.
Also, the band has posted their new single "Welcome to the Black Parade" on MySpace. You can listen to the track here. My Chemical Romance premiered the track this past week on MTV's Video Music Awards. The song will be featured on their forthcoming release The Black Parade. Warner Music Group (64 comments)

God I hope he doesn't die... if that Bayside dude got that much attention, just think about this... 3+ Replies

they've become a terrible band (i must admit, "i brought you my bullets" was pretty decent when it was first released and i still have it sitting around somewhere...) but that blows. hope the dude recovers. 1+ Reply

This scares the shit out of me, I've got a staph infection from being in Ghana for a couple of months. Should I be hospitalized? 3+ Replies

Queen was too good to have these assholes tainting their name. This is a crime against music.
JayTee (September 2, 2006)
I saw Queen with Paul Rogers the other month. The guitar guy came out and did a giant solo and had an echo effect on the guitar and started doing these wicked fast notes and he was harmonizing with his own guitar from whatever he played the second before what he was playing. It was totally nuts man. 2+ Replies

It must have been his turn to fulfill the band's mission to completely rim hobos.

i hope he gets through this. staph infection can be extremely serious. i hope the best for him.

when all pins are over I listen to Blitz and Discharge and work on my leather. But after all the PBR is gone and the new wave hookers drag themselves out the door and Im left all alone...I play a little MCR and put on a sweater.... 1+ Reply

Dude, you guys spelled "staff infection" wrong.
Rowwwley (September 3, 2006)
I played a Queen song on Guitar Hero tonight, and now I hear this and all I hear is more Queen (But I really don't think it's too bad, MCR has always been a little guilty pleasure of mine, I like the metal leads). Oh yeah, guitar Hero Rules.
Someone (September 3, 2006)
Im not a huge fan of MCR, i downloaded their last album and listen to it every now and then. I can see why a lot of people hate them, but at the same time i think a lot of people, just do it to jump on "i-hate-everything-popular-because-liking-the-same-stuff-as-ever yone-else-is-uncool" bandwagon. 1+ Reply

Dude, this song is fucking hilariously awesome. The last record sucked major balls, but that intro was epic, it's like a pop-punk queen. I love it, and all you bitches better too! 1+ Reply

you know if no one commented on these shitty bands, news about them probably wouldn't get posted.
Someone (September 3, 2006)
Also, this band would be a lot better if they had a better drummer that actually added some feeling into their playing on the set. 1+ Reply

I think this actually sounds pretty good, especially from 1 - 2 minutes into the song. Yeah, I can hear the Queen bits, I guess, but when do you not hear a band in another band? I'm not buying this album, but I'm kind of interested and might iTunes a song or two. I just don't know why people hate on this band as much as they do. They seem like earnest and put-together guys. And their music doesn't offend my sensibilities.
ABedForLiars (September 3, 2006)
I don't think I'll buy their new album. Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge wasn't very good. Sucks about the drummer though.
