The Hives at work on new album

The Hives are at work on their follow up to 2004's Tyrannosaurus Hives. The band hit Gröndal Studios in late December to record new material. This is the same studio where both Tyrannosaurus Hives and Veni Vidi Vicious was recorded. There's no word yet on when the results will be made available.

The Swedish garage punk band also recently collaborated with hip hop star Timbaland on a song for his forthcoming album. The band contributed vocals and guitars to a track which will likely be titled "Put It On Me." They also comment "We do not at this time know when it will be out but Timbaland is famous so you will notice when it is time." We'd wager a guess at March 2007.

I don't know what their later stuff is like, but I love Scared of Chaka and the Riverboat Gamblers, so I'm looking for more garage stuff. Is that their older sound?

village green preservation society, arthur, and the kinks kontroversy are my favorites. definitely one of the most underrated bands of that era. i think they're better than the beatles personally.

I'm not stoked exactly, but when this comes out I'll definitely listen to it. The Hives are generally regarded as one of the best existing rock n roll bands, so I think a lot of other people are "stoked," too.

I saw them a couple of years ago, they were really tight, it was a much better show than i thought it would be. Also they covered Sailin' On durring the sound check which was neat.

anybody see AFI cover Blur on the New Years Eve thing last night. i've been kinda dissapointed with them lately, with the not being punk anymore and shit. but they did a pretty good cover.

Both of those bands absolutely suck balls, and you listing them as the best bands from Sweden makes perfect sense to why you'd write something so dumb and lame regarding the Hives.

Great news. "Barely Legal" is one of my favourite albums ever, and all their newer stuff is good too. Though I like the idea of a Hives/Timbaland colaborration, I'm glad it'll be on Timbabland's album and not the Hives' own.
