Rivers Cuomo (Weezer) shopping his memoirs

According to Gawker, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo is apparently pitching his memoirs via a literary agent. The Harvard grad formed Weezer in 1992 and sold quite a few records.

The folks at Gawker weren't particularly kind to the songwriter noting:

if they're anything like the rest of his creative output, [they'll have] started out world-changingly awesome and then became so lame they make Pete Wentz seem profound.

Despite that site's derision, the band is working on their next full length and follow up to Make Believe.

In order:

Hearts Of Oak (less accessible than STS, but more depth and longer, more rewarding)
Shake The Sheets
Tyranny Of Distance (oldie but classic) tied with Living With The Living (new one, a few mistakes but overall good)

To be honest all of those are awesome records, so you're not really losing out by getting either. I say get them all and listen in sequence.

Rivers is successful and deservedly so. He created a fascinating body of work of unique songs that were a hell of a lot better than most of what was on the radio in the mid-90's. The fact that he's so derided for his later output is only because the early work was SO good in comparison. It's different than a lot of bands that never make anything really good and have no where to go but up for their whole careers and still never reach green level quality. (see every band that everyone on this board probably loves right now) j/k.
