i didnt know tom had the cover art to new wave tatooed on his arm.
the_other_scott (August 31, 2007)
their show in brooklyn sold out quickly. not surprising.
crackpotdemagogue (August 31, 2007)
what the video doesn't show is that seconds after the song finishes, gabel walks across to letterman and slams his fucking head right off his table.
the_other_scott (August 31, 2007)
i love the smile and wink on the "it could be me on the tv in your livingroom" line

Someone actually made a comment to me the other day about how Against me! was like the clash and New Wave was their Combat Rock (spawns the biggest hits but isn't huge with older fans).
Someone (August 31, 2007)
i love how against me! is considered to be huge sellouts who have made it to the big time, yet nobody i know who doesn't specifically listen to punk has any idea who they are
rupson (August 31, 2007)
"My next guests are a popular ROCK AND ROLL band". But wait..... they didn't interupt him and point out that they are a 'punk' band. Hmmmm, weird.
Someone (August 31, 2007)
whatever happened to the weekly listing of punk/punk-associated bands playing on TV? that's why i missed this performance, and probably a bunch just like it.
Someone (August 31, 2007)
sellouts to the max.

I'm 24 and after a shitty breakup went from 180 to 166 pounds. i've stopped losing weight but i am still a little flabby. how can i harden up my mid section. crunches seem to be working only real slow and really it's not that much. i drink a lot of beer. is my only option to quit all the booze. i do lots of running. 4 miles 5 times a week. any suggestions on how to stop this plateau i've hit and get a little more hard/lean?

Pretty good preformance, from probably the most underrated song on the album. Sure i understand why most of the "punx" hate it, but i still think its as cathcy as hell.
Citizen_Crack (August 31, 2007)
of all the songs off their new record, why the fuck would they pick this one? it's by far the worst.
MikeStupid (August 31, 2007)
Hands down the worst song they've ever recorded. It sounds like it should be sung at the end of an after school special about not doing drugs.
Someone (August 31, 2007)
Yeah totally. What you can do is look to portioning. Instead of eating one full meal, cut it in half and make two meals out of it but have them 5-6 times a day. If that takes up too much time, you could use meal replacements. You can buy them at GNC, they consist of a good proportion of carbs-fat-protein and are only about 350 calories. What eating small, portioned out meals will do is speed up your metabolism. I also completely recommend weight lifting. This is also another activity that burns calories but will also help you keep any muscle you have without burning it (as long as your eating enough protein). When someone cuts down, they lose fat first but if someone is losing more than 2 lbs a week, muscle is also being lost. By working out and eating protein, you will limit your amount of muscle loss and build muscle in the future once you decide show rest of comment
Someone (August 31, 2007)
one of the most annoying songs ever recorded. pure shit.
Someone (August 31, 2007)
Why doesn't Tom sing the chorus? It sounds terrible with just the two fatties.
Stalls_Standing (August 31, 2007)
The only thing that really annoyed me was when they should have said 'shoving it right back in their fucking face' and they just bailed.
crackpotdemagogue (August 31, 2007)
i just found out the other week that not only do relient k suck, but they are all devout christians. is there a connection between christianity and dreadful music?
Someone (August 31, 2007)
Not only did they ruin a decent riff by tacking an incredibly awkward lyrical construction to it, they repeat said awful lyric over and over and over. Incredibly shitty songwriting right there.
Someone (August 31, 2007)
that was awful. i can't believe i used to like this band boring stupid song. no wonder music sucks these days, this song is terrible. This song just got three times worse. What a shitass song! these guys really fucking suck that sounded absolutely horrible. Hands down the worst song they've ever recorded, one of the most annoying songs ever recorded. pure shit. It sounds terrible with just the two fatties. Incredibly shitty songwriting right there.
Someone (August 31, 2007)
Someone actually made a comment to me the other day about how Dante was like Jones the bones (a fucking douchebag).
MisFit4Me (August 31, 2007)
I actually liked that better than the version recorded on the record. Still definitely one of the worst songs written. Oh well. David Letterman called them a "Rock n' Roll Group". He should have said "Punk Rock Band" because old people sound hilarious saying that.
Someone (August 31, 2007)
Sounds like something a NIG.GER would write. Come on Tom, show us your NIG.GER dance moves.
Someone (September 1, 2007)
Stop, take some time to think about smashing that guys face into the counter.
Someone (September 1, 2007)
the drummer looks like shit.someone cut off that beard.this is a tv show and not a hobo shelter.
Someone (September 1, 2007)
these guys are the worst fucking band i've ever heard. jesus christ that was awful.
Someone (September 1, 2007)
Anyone else notice the cheeky wink to camera during the line 'It could be me on the TV in you living room.'
patman (September 1, 2007)
everyone notice how tom pretty much *sarcasticly* over plays this song, he even did the "hi mom!" at the end, but its cut out of this video.
patman (September 1, 2007)
i like this song alot but i prey to god this is not the second (but i think it may be).
opsdrummer (September 1, 2007)
this was good until tom gable once again ruined it with his shitty singing voice and crappy lyrics. it's hard for me to even take this band seriously.
MonsterLobster (September 1, 2007)
It's always nice to see some nice Gainesville kids on television. These guys deserve the press they're getting, even if I don't care for New Wave very much.
punkforpeace (September 1, 2007)
logging in just forces everyone to take accountability for what they say. which shouldnt bother anyone unless they have something to hide. such as a racist comment, or something about selling out when you have the cd rocking out in your civic . . . anyway, im rambling but i think logging in is good and should thwart some tool from posting nonsense over and over again . . . against me! rules and we all know this.

MsJustinChris (September 1, 2007)
It cuts off before, but right before the camera faded out Tom waved at the camera and mouthed "Hi Mum"... ...I guess you had to see it.
MikeFuckingRock (September 2, 2007)
still love these guys as people and as a band, i havent heard the whole new album yet, what i have heard i liked, but i wasnt too into this song, but i know they have better shit so fuck it.
RyanOnTheMBTA (September 5, 2007)
I think it would be funny if Tom Gabel smashed David Letterman's face on his desk if they went over to sit on the couch. |
