Media: The Playing Favorites: “Drug Hugger” & “Futuring”

The Playing Favorites, the new band featuring Joey Cape (Lagwagon, Bad Astronaut) Luke Tierney (Penfifteen Club) Marko DeSantis (Sugarcult, Bad Astronaut, Popsicko) Mick Flowers (The Rentals, The Lapdancers, Popsicko) and Tim Cullen (Summercamp, Popsicko), have posted two more songs from their debut album. The record is titled I Remember When I Was Pretty and is due out December 04, 2007.

We've got a profile for the band here and we'll be posting the entire album for you to preview later this month.

am i the only one disappointed with The Playing Favorites? i remember hearing one of joey cape's solo songs a couple years ago on a comp, just him acoustic. and it sounded fucking gorgeous. not a lagwagon fan by any stretch, but that song really made me change my mind about him. and i was kinda stoked about TPF. but this is just another pop-punk band. meh.

I'm not a Lagwagon fan by any means either but I love Bad Astronaut and Joey writes good pop songs. To me this seems like he still has a knack for writing a catchy song, solid pop rock music so far.
