You're the lucky reader of the 42nd edition of the Punknews.org Vinyl File. This column aims to keep you informed with upcoming releases as well as spotlighting interesting releases, your favorite bands' own collections and labels with a history of vinyl releases worth talking about. As always, Vinyl File is brought to you by Ben Conoley.
Gaslight Anthem's The '59 Sound is available for pre-order now. Would-be purchasers crashed Side One Dummy's website yesterday, so Vinyl Collective stepped up and is filling orders. The most limited color, white, is sold out, but you can still get black and blue variants here. Asian Man Records has done another pressing of The Lawrence Arms' A Guided Tour of Chicago and Ghost Stories. The label says that the new ones will have silk-screened covers, but they'll be different than those of the first pressing. They also released a 2xLP of Cocktails And Dreams, but it sold out. Fast. Asian Man has a bunch of vinyl we've already talked about, so go buy it. Seriously. Are you into Faith No More? Me neither, but I do remember stealing one of their cassettes from my friend's older sister in high school. I was into it. Either way, fans can expect a repress of their 1992 album Angel Dust. More information should be available here shortly. Epitaph Records is going to be releasing Motion City Soundtrack's latest record, Even If It Kills Me, on vinyl. Why they didn't choose to release one of the band's good records"> is beyond me. Nevertheless, if you want it, check it out here. No Idea Records is now taking pre-orders for Off with Their Heads's upcoming album Bottoms Up. They are also taking pre-orders for Lifetime's self-titled album as well as Hot Water Music's Forever and Counting, both due in July. Fat Wreck Chords have delayed selling the vinyl for the latest Me First and The Gimme Gimmes album, Have Another Ball. The label says that once they have 'em, they'll start to sell 'em. Since everyone is going bat-crazy for the new Batman movie, why not buy the soundtrack on vinyl? Do it here. The Faint are back with a new album. The poorly spelt Fasciinatiion is being pressed as a double LP and can be pre-ordered here. Do people still lose it for Isis records? I'm not sure, but they have another album of their Live series availableas well as a re-release of The Red Sea, which can be purchased here. On July 21 Runner Up Records will be releasing a split between Shook Ones and End of a Year. Victory Records hasn't said much about it, but they are going to be releasing Somewhere in the Between from Streetlight Manifesto on vinyl. You can get it at Interpunk in an exclusive color. Deathwish Inc has a number of pre-orders on the go, including released from Cold War, Bitter End and Narrows. Anybody else order the LaGrecia vinyl from the Vinyl Collective? I got an email the other day saying the inserts were forgotten so they had to send them back to press and it'd take another 2 weeks or so before shipping. Balls! 3+ Replies

Ok, Gaslight Anthem is great. So, what about the thousands of other great bands? I'm not coming here anymore. 2+ Replies

I feel kind of weird saying this, but if the Dark Knight soundtrack was reasonably priced, I'd be all over that shit. 3+ Replies

This is nothing but blatant editorial advertising for their upcoming tour. How dare you punknews? Where is my report from the front lines of Iraq? 1+ Reply

I want a vinyl of gaslight with blue denim and in the shape of Springsteens ass.

Question - what is the fascination with Gaslight? I've listened to their music and it's mediocre and average poppy rock at best. There are hundreds of bands out there just like them. I need people to expain it to me - seriously
