All-American Rejects have recorded an accordion, beer bottle and acoustic take on the Britney Spears single, "Womanizer." The band explains the cover is because they can do a "better job than Britney."

The lead singer kinda looks like the caveman in those geico commercials.

Holy shit, the Weasel gave one of them a Formula 27 shirt. This is madness. This is blasphemy! 5+ Replies

they should have left this one to Britney, because I'd rather watch 1 former hot chick perform this, instead of 3 ugly chicks

I wonder how much they had to pay the violinist from Gogol Bordello to play beer bottles in the back. 2+ Replies

I am by no means familiar with the original, but I like this version. This totally should have been a song recorded in a dingy practice space with one camera, though. It doesn't need to look like a proper music video....

My band does a pretty bitchin' metal cover of "I Kissed A Girl". 2+ Replies

After looking like a train wreck for a few years, Britney looks mad hot again. 2+ Replies

In all honesty, it shouldn't be reported when bands cover acts like Britney Spears because it's such a cheap gimmick to gain publicity. I wouldn't humour them. I don't think bands even try to pass it off as 'irony' anymore do they?

I'm pretty sure I'd rather listen to Brittney Spears than All-American Rejects any day.

I would assume this is an attempt to make fun of Britney Spears and her "music". Funny thing is come Grammy time, both will be in the same category for pop album of the year.

I know this is the AAR and have reason for being dissed on here and there, but this take was really pretty amazing. They cleverly used odd instruments and the song sounded good. I have never heard the Britney song before and I won't be searching it out but give this band some credit for doing a cover outside of the box and making it sound good.
