hey Tom! i do apologize about that article on our release dates with 09'. please dont get discouraged! these were plans only in discussion and one of the labels posted it and should not have. the band never confirmed these dates. some times things get pushed back due to life, health and family. for me family/ health comes before anything. i understand the frustration and can only say that i will post news on our myspace and my FB. trust me, if i could have been on the road during that time i would have. i cant wait to finish these recording and get back on the road soon. as far as the tour we were supposed to do, it was presented to us as a tour with strike anywhere and this is a standoff w some other great bands that i respect. halfway through negotiations it became a " myspace tour" and the " openers" would have to sell tickets in a contest to play on the tour. thats a scam! ill ALWAYS stick to what i believe and " pay to play " is just bullshit and a scam for the openers. i dont want our band to be associated with corrupt promoter schemes that rip off the local bands( every band is local somewhere right). what was supposed to be a very DIY oldschool skate punk tour, became
the typical " who's hand is in who,s pocket game. sorry but id rather play a tour of small hall shows, cheap door prices, with hard working bands. thats just my preference. we dont need energy drinks, myspace, or any other social network to dictate any of our decisions. this is not a crack on the bands that did that tour. but i have to say i was a bit shocked on how " political" bands agree to allowing bands " pay to open". this may have been soured by past experiences. we once played ashow in Conn. and behind our backs, the promoter made our opening bands( who were amazing) pay 400 bones to open our show. he also charged at the door. we found out after the show. our band personally and literally put the dickhead promoter in a locked room and basically made( lol )him to fork over the 400 bucks to each band in full! and then pay us also from the door. we may not post blogs, update myspace, network and climb ladders, release records to industry standard.... but this was never my goal. we dont feel we need to wear our " scene merit badges" on our sleeves. this is no disrespect to our listeners. i would hope our lyrics would translate our opinions and goals. its the way we have
always intended. we are still very DIY and used to that lifestyle and promote it. we arent competing with the " flavor punks of the week". we have a very odd set of standards, ethics and morals and many may not agree with them. we are very grateful for the support we recieve, and the amazing people, bands and sites like punk news tht have helped us along the way. we were very excited to do that tour until it became a sponsor circus. our label totally re- vamped into a corporate farming justin beiber haircut label and dismissed our last record because it wasnt " radio" so it wasnt pushed or backed and hardly advertised. keep in mind , we thought we were on a punk rock label for years! we had little control over the " bios and press" they would release....( for instance, the label bio states " influenced by RKL and propagandhi ( spelling?)...... sure these may be great bands that i do respect. honestly, i dont own any RKL and wouldnt know a tune if i heard it, and only own the first 2 prop records. good discs, but def not an influence at all!) this constant confusion between label and band did put alot of strain on our momentum with touring and progress.

as far as recording, we are recording and mixing at my studio in NJ and hope to be finished in a few months. im hoping we can find a label that we can work with and trust. if not, we will be releasing our music ourselves.

Definitely agree about invitation to tragedy. One of my all time favorites and probably the single record that had the biggest influence on what I listen to today.

I don't get all the alleged drama in the band, and at this point I don't care anymore. I'm just excited for new music and shows.

haha k, shit? im ok with critics. and thanks for at least giving it a listen. that was our last obligation under contract. we were going to record a full country record as a joke just to complete the contract but didnt want to do this to the listeners. like it or not, we purposely cut all of the " pop" tunes off the record..... because that was exactly what the label expected.... fuckin pop! we made the record faster harder and my lyrics were from the heart and some of the most important to me. the cut " pop" songs will be released on our next release. there are about 4 of em. so in short, thats not " our new sound". the album was called" reclamation of independence". hinting at our freedom and contractual release from our label. the new jams are basically a mix of all of the record styles. i think every band should experiment and stray from the norm to avoid stagnation. maybe our last attempt was a bit faster harder , less melodic, but it that was just the point. i had a blast recording it an i think the boys shredded and dan malsch did an amazing job recording us. we really put alot of thought and time into reclamation and im stoked on it. it was nice to switch it up a bit. i also feel we just became a tighter band over the years, not more technical. so i guess it was a very personally rebellious record that painted a picture of what we were dealing with. im excited to be free of our demons and now we can present our band with no walls up anymore. a band should be fun and artistic and hopefully have a message. k nuff for now. doc is here im sitting in the ER , waiting for more lymes tests in south jerz hospital in an assless gown writing you on an iphone..... yes, with my thumbs....ill post some pics on the space. keep an open mind peeps! be easy, and love yas! cheers! get me the fuck outta here!
