Warped Tour compilation for 2011 detailed

The 2011 Warped Tour compilation has been announced. Set for release on June 7, 2011, the album features music from Paramore, A Day To Remember, Set Your Goals, The Devil Wears Prada, Big D and the Kids Table, Moving Mountains, The Wonder Years, Street Dogs, Blacklist Royals, Elway, The Copyrights, Against Me!, Lucero, Dance Gavin Dance, The Aggrolites, Sharks, The Menzingers, The Human Abstract and many others.

At the same time, it has some of the best bands its ever had. Copyrights? Menzingers? I don't know if they've been on before, but its kinda cool to see them up there.

is that correct? I think I see 5, maybe 6 bands that I enjoy on this one and I believe last year's comp only had 4 or 3 bearable bands.

I'm either getting old or I'm just not into punk anymore, but I never heard of over half of these bands. I remember really looking forward to going to the warp tour over a decade ago, what happened?

it's probably less of an age thing, and more to do with the fact that most of these bands aren't even remotely punk.

The warped tour I went to two summers ago did it for me. I believe about 90% of the crowd were pre-teens there for "3OH!3". By the time Bad Religion played, I belive there were about 50 of us left...

Then again, Fat Mike stage dived halfway through their set and sang/moshed with the few of us that were left, so that was a pretty cool experience.

both those bands are terrible, saw Big D with Pennywise last year, and I think more than half of the audience wanted to strangle the singer with his microphone.

I personally think they need to kill the idea of warped, and start another summer festival tour which only plays punk and ska bands and the Athletes again. I would even personally welcome Eminem and Kool Keith again to get a 1997-1999 kind of style of warped tour, because this like Epitaph is getting embarassing with it's lineup (granted I know Epitaph signed some decent bands in 2010).
