Punk rock and ska have been a huge part of my life ever since music started mattering to me more than almost anything. Mighty Mighty Bosstones really opened the door for me to explore these genres. They were the foundation, the seed, and the root from which all my music knowledge and love sprouted (to get metaphorical). As the years go by, bands change and so do my feelings about their music, but these bands I've listed will always be important to me because during some of the hardest times of my life, their songs have really pulled me through. The wit and wisdom of their best work is timeless.
