The Halifax Pop Explosion is set for November 4, 5 and 6 of this year. The annual event features "the very best in new and innovative music from Halifax, Canada and around the world." New to the festival this year is an expanded music conference with panels, workshops, showcases and more. The event will also host the Indie Zine and Label Fair, featuring public readings by zine authors and film screenings.

Submissions for showcasing acts are still open until September 10th and the lineup is expected to expand from it's current state, but so far bands involved include SNFU, Despistado, Controller.Controller, Burnthe8track, The Organ, The Hidden Cameras, Owen and more.
