It was reported this summer that Turbonegro has plans to record a new album for release early next year. Bass player Thomas Seltzer commented that the album will be produced and recorded by the band in Oslo, despite many offers from outside Norway, including one from Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age. The band plans to hit the studio in this month to work on songs like "City of Satan," described as a national song for Oslo, "Dirty Dirty" and "Chateaus and Plateaus." Tentative album titles are Halfway To Hell, Pure Hatred and Babylon Burning.

The band turned down some big offers to tour the US this summer, including Coachella and the ill-fated Lollapalooza tour. Seltzer explained "Perry Farrell himself called us and asked, but we had to say no. Mainly because two of our members are becoming fathers this summer. This will probably manage to destroy our homo image, thus we should better keep it secret."

This news originated in Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen in June. Thanks to Turbojugend USA for the translation Punkbands for bringing it to our attention, better late than never.
