Gearhead has signed San Francisco's Black Furies. Here's the scoop from their newsletter:

Our long search for a great local rock and roll band to join the Gearhead roster has finally ended with last month's singing of San Francisco's own Black Furies. They play rock and roll in the tradition of… well, frankly EVERY good rock and roll band from Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps to Turbonegro. These four clad-in-black fellows have been compared to everybody from The Dragons and The Hellacopters to Zodiac Mindwarp and even Chuck Berry in the press, so you're just going to have to hear these guys and draw your own conclusions. Luckily that's easy to do, because their excellent self-titled debut CD is for sale through Interpunk and is even available for download on iTunes, all that info is on the bands website that you can checkout right here. As Zero Magazine said, it's "Loud, fast and 100 percent rock" and that just about says it all. Their Gearhead release should be ready sometime this Fall, we'll keep you posted, not to worry amigos.

Gearhead has also announced their annual SXSW showcase. The show will take place on Saturday, March 19th at Beerland in Austin and will feature Pink Swords (Austin, TX), Gitogito Hustler (Tokyo, Japan), Million Dollar Marxists (Ottawa, Ontario), NRA (Amsterdam, Holland), Electric Eel Shock (Japan/UK) and the Turbo A.C.'s (NYC, NY).
