by Level Plane

Hot Cross are currently writing new songs with plans of releasing a full-length in early 2006, tentatively on Level Plane, with the potential for an EP to be released around the same time as well. The first of the releases would follow up last year's Fair Trades And Farewells EP and 2003's Cryonics. The band, who recently lost guitarist Josh Jakubowski, will enter the studio late this year to begin recording, and mentioned the following in their update as well:

Currently, we have about 5-6 new songs. Some of them have vocals worked out and are (mostly) complete. Others are completed musically, but are waiting for vocals. There are about another 12-15 songs that are simply seeds waiting to be shot into the world.(ed.-nice analogy). The songs definitely reflect the new lineup of the band and are taking us in an interesting direction.

The band also has several East coast dates coming up in late July and early August.
