It's not a lot of news, but we'll take what we can get in this case. The new Buzzcocks full length Flat-Pack Philosophy has been completed but won't see a release until February 2006. Record deals on both sides of the Atlantic are in the works but nothing has been finalized yet. The band's 2003 record Buzzcocks was released by Cherry Red in the UK and Merge in the US. A large UK tour is planned around the release with European and North American dates to follow.

In other news, two of Pete Shelley's solo recordings, 1981's Homosapien and `83's XL1, are set for re-release in the near future. The material that comprises Homosapien was originally intended for the Buzzcocks fourth LP, continuing the progress made in the latter half of `79's A Different Kind Of Tension. However when demoing the material Shelley and producer Martin Rushent became enamored with the eventual synth-pop direction heard on the record. The Buzzcocks were disbanded a few months prior to Homosapien's release and remained apart until 1989.
