Punknews.org has confirmed that the 2005 Wasted USA festival has been cancelled. The event was set to take place on the October 8th weekend at the Orange Show in San Bernandino, California. There are several rumours making rounds regarding the cancellation, so once an official statement is released from the organizers we will post it here. Refund information is expected soon.

The festival, part of a series of successful yearly European shows that formerly went by the name Holidays In The Sun, was to feature a number of classic punk bands along with up-and-comers from the rosters of TKO Records, BYO Records and more. The scheduled performers included Cock Sparrer, the Adicts, Youth Brigade, the Weirdos, the Dickies, Marky Ramone, the Exploited, UK Subs, the Avengers, T.S.O.L. and many others totalling in over one hundred bands. Slaughter and the Dogs, who were supposed to make a special appearance with Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, issued a simple statement, "sorry kids we would have loved to have played the gig."

However not all is lost for those bands and fans with booked plane tickets. Last minute shows featuring many of the festival's planned performers are coming together in the area now. We'll post updates on those as they come in.
